(Info)A Japanese ramen and aburasoba shop whose mascot, a wide-eyed black cat slurping noodles, already gave it a personality. The refresh turned that cat into a complete brand, from the shop sign, lanterns and takeaway packaging to a trilingual website in Japanese, Chinese and English.
Process
Kept the hand-drawn black cat at the heart of the identity and built the rest around it: a rough brush-script wordmark, a red rising-sun brushstroke and a palette of ink black, paper cream and chilli red, carried onto the shop front, lanterns, light box, printed menu, takeaway bags and bowls. On the website the mascot comes alive: two poses were turned into a seamless AI-generated video loop with a transparent background, so the cat keeps slurping its noodles in the hero, and a second loop has it peeking up over the footer. Every dish on the menu has its own AI-generated photograph, the brand story is told in three chapters (broth, soy sauce and toppings), and the location section pairs an illustrated neighbourhood map with opening hours. The site is a static Next.js build with GSAP scroll animations and Lenis smooth scrolling, fully in Japanese, Chinese and English, with the menu and prices kept in one file for easy updates.
